The challenge

Coram is the UK’s oldest children’s charity. The Coram Innovation Incubator is a collaboration between Coram, ten local authorities and three private sector partners to develop and implement innovative practice in Children’s Services.

The approach

Once it was launched, she supported participants as they developed their projects. She worked with the local authority teams, using one-to-one coaching sessions to help support the development of more radical and innovative solutions to address their issues.

The results

Overall the programme has come up with a range of strong innovation ideas which are now in different stages of testing and development, with two of the Inset projects forming the Core Projects of the Incubator that will be scaled more widely over the coming year.

Client View

Mary was particularly helpful in contributing to the design of the Inset. She understood the aims of the programme and provided regular and practical feedback to help develop an accessible and effective course. The feedback from the local authority participants was incredibly positive. They valued her thoughts, expertise and guidance. The coaching sessions really helped them to refine and refocus their project goals.
